New Principal Mentoring Program
ROE Professional Development Alliance

WHO IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE? In accordance with PA 94-1039, all first year Illinois principals. Assistant principals with five years experience in the same district who are promoted to their first full-time principalship are exempt.

Year 1 Principals - Option A - provides a full coaching model with monthly job-alike sessions based on the research of Marzano R., Reeves D., Education Commission of the States, and the Wallace Foundation. Time: TBA at the PDA.
Year 1 Principals - Option B - provides the basic state coaching model which meets the legal requirements of PA 94-1039. Example: coach meets with principal four hours per month either electronically, in person, or on site. Four on- site visits are required for the year.

Costs will be determined based on State Funding. The ROE PDA will be offering the most competitive pricing available in the region. In some cases, ROE/PDA grants may be available to offset costs.
