Mike is an engaging trainer whose passion is connecting teachers, parents, school leaders, and administrators with great ideas and best practices. He has designed workshops in Cooperative Learning, Classroom Best Practices, Differentiated Learning, Engaged Teaching and Learning, Literacy, Vocabulary Development, Reading Improvement, and Strategic Teaching and Learning for both educators and parents. Improving student learning is Mike’s goal in every professional development session, and he specializes in working with clients to develop custom workshops to meet their particular needs.
For over 18 years Mike has planned programs that meet the needs of educators and presented them at the Illinois Reading Council, Midwest Area CRISS conferences, the Raising Student Achievement Conference, and at many schools in the Chicago suburban area. Mike has addressed a wide range of audiences at all levels in his current role as a trainer with the Professional Development Alliance, as a regional partner with the Bob Pike Group, and in his previous role as Professional Development Coordinator for the Valley View District 365-U.
Mike realizes how important it is to help teachers set learning goals and deliver content that coutinuously improves and aligns to state standards. His energetic style, classroom background, and practical examples make him highly credible and effective with teachers.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University and a Master of Arts in Education from Governor’s State University. Current memberships include ASCD and The International Reading Association. In addition to professional development he taught middle- and high-school students for 35 years.
