The Professional Development Alliance maintains a partnership with Aurora University to provide an opportunity for certified teachers to become endorsed/approved through its coursework for the Bilingual/ESL Endorsement. Classes are taught by credentialed faculty with extensive experience in leading and teaching in a Bilingual/ESL program.
This program is open to students who hold a teaching certificate (Type 03, Type 04, Type 09, Type 10 or Type 29). Applicants with a Type 29 Certificate are required to provide evidence of having passed the Illinois Basic Skills Test.
Classes utilize the cohort model and meet 1 evening per week. The Bilingual/ESL Program is comprised of 18 semester graduate hours. For the Bilingual endorsement, the Illinois State Board of Education requires a language proficiency test in a target language.
Cohorts are established at the PDA or in convenient locations throughout our 3-county area. Classes meet 1 evening per week.
