Other Certificate

At present, only those with Type 03, Type 04, Type 09, Type 10, Type 73, or Type 75 certificates are required to document professional development in order to renew their certificates.

If you are using a Substitute Certificate, a Provisional Certificate, or a Transitional Bilingual Certificate, you are not required to document professional development in order to renew your certificate.

You are, however, required to keep your certificate registered with the county in which you work and/or live.  To check the status of your certificate, visit the Illinois State Board of Education's Educator Certification System (ECS).
