Gifted Education
What’s new in Gifted Education? Teachers across Illinois are finding out through their participation in the Gifted Education Seminar (GES). This FREE professional development opportunity is designed for general education teachers who wish to gain a better understanding of gifted education. The 45-hour seminar addresses four major areas of gifted education: Perspectives, Knowing the Gifted Child, Differentiation, and Curriculum & Program Models. Contact us to register for one of the GES sessions that meets both your personal and professional schedule. FREE seminars continue through August, 2010.
GES Participants will…
- Learn to recognize and address the needs of gifted students in their classrooms
- Explore new ways to differentiate instruction for all learners
- Receive two texts: Differentiation: Simplified, Realistic, and Effective by Bertie Kingore and Achieving Excellence: Educating the Gifted and Talented by Frances Karnes and Kristen Stephens
- Earn 45 CPDUs
- Receive a Certificate of Completion of State approved Gifted Education Seminar
Optional: 3 hours graduate credit, available at a cost of $225.00
