Audience: 6-8
The new Illinois Learning Standards for Social Science require students to implement an inquiry approach and utilize primary documents to gain insights, evaluate information, broaden perspectives and write logical arguments based on substantive claims, sound reasoning, and relevant evidence. In this presentation, teachers will learn how to access primary documents relevant to students in grades 6-8 and use an inquiry approach to develop good questions which lead to effective, evidence-based arguments. Pizza and pop will be served.
