Making clear linkages between standards, assessment, instruction, and grading can ensure greater validity of a summative grade and fairness for all students. In this interactive workshop, teachers will learn strategies that move students from a grade/task completion orientation to a learning orientation through grading principles that promote accuracy & student confidence. Traditional & standards-based grading practice will be examined along with the issues of grade calculation vs. grade determination. In addition, participants will be introduced to the use of performance level rubrics to collect student data as a developmental progression of mastery as well as some sample reporting tools.

*Bring your favorite cup of coffee to the training. Lunch will be served.
