Joy Kamp

Joy Kamp has nine years of experience in the ELA junior high classroom. She has taught 7th & 8th grade, collaborative, and gifted students–giving her a wide range of experience and skill sets. She strives to help teachers reach their students on the level they are at while maintaining a safe, student-centered and engaging classroom.


Her skill sets include classroom management, differentiated instruction, writing, reading, and grammar instruction and creating engaging lessons that align with state standards.


She is passionate about helping students find their voice in the ELA classroom through intentional writing practices and best practices for reading. Over the years, she has helped develop and integrate independent reading in 7th and 8th-grade classrooms and helped enhance curriculum and instruction. In 2013, she won the “Most Outstanding Secondary Education Student” at North Central College.


Joy graduated with a BA in English Writing and Secondary Education from North Central College. She also obtained a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist from Olivet Nazarene University.
