Date Summary:   1 Session on 4/10/2019.  

Description:

Participants will discuss myths and characteristics of high ability students, and their unique brain development Participants will be exposed to strategies that will correctly identify higher level students and build a set of resources for working with their learning needs. This course addresses building rigor in the curriculum by using methods of guided research by incorporating issues not topics, acceleration vs enrichment, simulations, and exploring primary documents vs secondary resources. By taking this course teachers will embed Illinois Social and Emotional Learning Standards and (Every Student Succeeds Act) ESSA requirements to effectively support high ability students.
