Presenter(s): John A. Randich

Date Summary:   1 Session on 6/15/2020.

In partnership with ISBE, the PEAC (Performance Evaluator Advisory Council) has released guidance for Qualified Evaluator Administrator Academies Online/Virtual Learning to be used only for this time of school closure.

In order to participate in this academy in a virtual format, the participant must need the academy for one of the following programs:
Imperative for employment in order to evaluate in the fall of 2020
Currently enrolled in a course or program where this academy is a requirement for course completion OR for 2020 graduation

Our experienced facilitator will offer this academy with integrity and fidelity as if he/she was conducting a face-to-face training.

This academy will consist of pre/post work in addition to the online course itself. Your facilitator will email you any pre/post work needed along with a deadline to complete.

This is the student growth retraining course that is required for principal & teacher evaluators who are renewing their designations required to evaluate staff. As part of this Academy, completing a pre-session webinar that reviews Part 50 Administrative Rules to student growth is mandatory.

In this Academy, participants will learn how to:
1. use assessments & measurement models identified by the joint committee in determining the student growth attributable to individual teachers/principals & understand how different types of assessments are used for measuring growth;
2. use data from the evaluation rubric, other evidence collected, and best practices relative to evaluating student growth to link teacher/principal and school-level professional development plans to evaluation results;
3. create, in collaboration with teachers/principals, supportive, targeted professional development plans that consider past results, contribute to professional growth, and assist teachers/principals in aligning professional development & goal setting to school improvement goals;
4. communicate evaluation outcomes & findings in constructive & supportive ways that enable teachers/principals to set goals & improve practice;
5. use personal data from a pre/post student growth conference to analyze personal performance for the purpose of improving ability to provide constructive & supportive feedback to teachers/principals & assist in aligning professional development goal setting to school improvement goals.

NOTE: Participants will have one week following the Academy to complete their A/D component & send their completed E-Template to the presenter for review & comment.
