The Professional Development Alliance is actively involved with the Illinois State Board of Education and various committees that oversee state-wide initiatives. We do this both to represent the interests of our districts on these committees and to ensure that we can provide you with up-to-date and meaningful insights and trainings in these areas. Every school in Illinois is required to use the Response to Intervention (RtI) model to address the academic and behavioral needs of all learners. The model involves the use of screening, assessment, and targeted interventions to close learning gaps. Documentation of RtI is required as a part of the identification for students who may need special education services.
